~Book Editing, Projects, Second Birthdays~

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a good week last week. I know that my week was spent doing nothing. I was feeling ill from Friday till Wednesday, but I really started to feel much better by Thursday. So, I didn’t do much of anything last week. But I do have things to share with y’all this Monday. 🙂

I will start by sharing that my book is in the first stages of editing! I’m so excited and can’t wait to see the finished story. I am still looking into publishers. There is one, self-publishing company that I asked for more info from, and they keep asking if my book is done being edited. I don’t know if I’m going to use them or not yet. Self-publishing is all well and good, but I don’t have money to invest, and I don’t want to have to market my book on my own so much. I would love if a publishing company wanted my book and would market and sell it for me.

There is a website that helps you get your manuscript seen by publishers called Christian Book Proposals. I’m thinking about using them to help me find a publisher. You can decide what type of publishing company sees your work whether Royalty-based publishers or Self-publishing companies. At least that is how I understood it. If you decide that you want to use them, you pay for a six-month time period for your book proposal to be on their website. Once ~The Fairies Quest~ is edited I’m really thinking about using this site to help me find a publisher.

Otherwise, before I was feeling ill and now that I’m feeling so much better, projects have been getting done. I’m still going through stuff. Yes, still working on going through things. Every time I think that I’m getting closer to being done I realize a place that has more. lol. I’m still not sure if I have gone through all the stuff from the attic. I know that I have things in the basement I need to look through. It’s overwhelming!

Just before I started feeling sick, I went through all my dolls. That is a big job! I had over eighty dolls. But I can proudly say that I am down to twenty-five. 🙂 I hope to look back in the attic and see if I have anything else up there that I need to go through and finish up childhood stuff soon. After that is office supplies, cleaning supplies, and kitchen stuff.

Also, my Dad and I have been working on the master bath. He is working on fixing the ceiling, and I have been painting trim, the door, and soon the vanity. Once the ceiling is painted the walls will be the only thing left to paint and the bathroom will be done! Then we move on to the master closet and bedroom, it all needs to be painted. But one thing at a time, otherwise I will cry with all that needs to be done.

Ok, some of the last things I wanted to share before giving an update on my Little Niece. The weather has been warm too cold to warm again. It is up and down and all around. It feels like the weather has menopause with the temperatures being all over the place. It doesn’t seem to cause the chickens any problems though because we are still getting eggs and we have an overabundance for three people.

Anyway, with the weather up and down we have been enjoying watching the Olympics for the last couple of weeks. The figure skating is one of our favorites to watch. But the skiing isn’t too bad neither is the snowboarding. But I still prefer figure skating over them both. 🙂 It’s a little sad that it ended last night.

One last thing, the consignment shop by us has seen my crocheted stuff before and want my product at their shop! They have little pop-up shops during the week, and I may do one of those sometime this summer. I just don’t have enough animals crocheted to sell at two places right now. But I was really honored that they recognized my work and wanted to have me sell there.

Ok, here is an update on my Little Niece. She will be two next month. TWO! When did that happen? Didn’t she just turn one? My goodness she has gotten so grown up. Why she just got a helmet yesterday so she can ride her bike. Her Mama somehow found a helmet that matched her little pink radio flyer. How she does that I will never know.

She loves to dance to music that only she can hear. Feed the chickens birdseed on their new chicken picnic table. Loves going out, we took her to the library and then the consignment shop Saturday. She also loves her sweets. Which bring me to my Little Nieces birthday cake.

I’m making her cake and it will be a big hostess cupcake cake. Just like what she shares with her Granddaddy on Friday nights. Filled with marshmallow cream covered in chocolate gauche icing. Her dream in a cake! lol. Here are some pictures for the week.

  1. I’m so excited that you’re almost done editing your book. Have you looked into Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing? You can get ebooks and paperbacks, and you don’t have to invest any money into it. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for, but I just thought I’d mention it.

    • Hi Erin,
      Thank you!
It’s nice to have people excited about my book. I really feel that the Lord really wrote this story though me.
As for publishing, I was hoping to have a publisher want to publish for me. But I am willing to look into other options. I haven’t looked into Amazon Kindle Direct. I haven’t even heard of them before. Thank you for letting me know and I will definitely look into it!
