Hey Everyone,
So last Sunday my friends and I got together and finished putting our shoeboxes together. We packed sixteen boxes in a couple of hours! We had already packed the 2-4 year old’s boxes but still needed to pack the 5-9 and 10-14 year old’s.
On Saturday night I made sugar cookies. I dyed the dough with red and green dye to make them look more like the Samaritan’s Purse OCC logo. I wanted to use sprinkles like last year when my Mama had found sprinkles that went perfectly with the colors. But this year I forgot to put them on the grocery list. So we always have food dye, why not have red and green sugar cookies. They kind of looked like the Ukrops cookies but bigger. 🙂 I could have them because of the gluten but everyone else said that they were good.
Also on Sunday before my friends got here I made sure to organized all the stuff that we collected over the year. I find organizing the stuff fun and easier to pack the boxes afterwards. So the 5-9 was set up was on one side of the dinning room and 10-14 was on the other. Boys on one half of the table and girls on the other. Again I just find it easier if their separated before packing the boxes. That and it looks so cool having everything out and organized like that. 🙂
Here are some pictures from Sunday. The first photo is of the boxes that we packed. One of us was packing a box at the time that this photo was taken.
On Mondays post I shared a picture of the card that my Friend D made for us to put in the boxes. My Mama and my Friend E’s Mama taped all the labels on the boxes and then helped us by writing out almost all the cards. I was very thankful for that because I was having trouble with my spelling that day. Sometimes when I’m tired I just seem to spell words wrong so much more then usual. lol. So yeah happy that they did the card writing for me.
It went by so much faster then I thought it would. But we had fun and all the boxes were packed and are ready to go. It is always so exciting to see the boxes finished and ready to be off. I hope that y’all have just as much fun as my friends and I do when it comes to packing shoeboxes!
Help my friends and I fill shoeboxes this Christmas season and show kids how much God loves them.
