~Uncommon Shoebox Gifts~

Hey Everyone,

So sorry that I haven’t posted anything the last couple of days. I had a devotion written out but didn’t really like what I had wrote. So decided that I was going to work on it some more and post it on Wednesday. But I woke up on Wednesday with a fever and not feeling well. Which I had expected because I just had the second COVID shot. I just didn’t expect to be so tired. Anyway I am sorry that I haven’t posted anything on Tuesday and Wednesday. But I’m back today! 🙂

This is the last Thursday in September so instead of posting a clip I wanted to share some uncommon shoebox gifts.

Some of the things mentioned you may already pack in shoeboxes each year. But may not be common for others. I hope this list gives you some ideas to think outside the box so to speak.

Clothing Underwear Washable Pads for older girls

I never really thought to pack underwear in a shoebox before till someone did in a group bible study that I attended. They said pretty much why not. I have admit that is true. My brother gets clothes every Christmas including underwear.

Washable Pads came to mind because girls in some countries miss out on school because they don’t have any. Which can be very frustrating. Also they don’t have to hide or stay home during that time, allowing them some freedom they may not of had before.

Indoor and Outdoor Tools Small kitchen Utensils (Spatula, Spoons, Ladles, Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons, Whisks) Hot Pads Aprons Small Clotheslines and Clothespins Small Gardening Tools (Hand Shovel or Spade, Hand Rake, Gardening Gloves) Small Tools (Screwdrivers, Hammer, Wrench, Work Gloves) Tool Belt Fishing Kits

A lot of these things need to have short handles to fit the boxes. Tools are allowed in the boxes if you are wondering. As for the gardening stuff you should know seeds are not allowed.

Misc. Small Umbrella Small Musical Instruments (Harmonica or Woodwind Recorder) Binoculars Compass Tape for School Supplies First Aid Kits

I’m sure there is more that could be added here but that is all that I can think for right now. If you have any ideas please share. It is always nice to hear what others have to say and their ideas. Just so you know I did look on Samaritans Purse to get some ideas and also make sure that they are ok to put in shoeboxes. I hope this helps you with packing this year and that you have fun doing so!
