~Psalm 46:10~

“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10.

Be still. Know that He is God. He will be exalted. The nations and all the earth with exalt Him. What do you think it means to exalt Him? To be still and know Him has God? What do you think when you hear that He will be exalted throughout the earth? What does exalt mean?

These are just a few questions that I would like you to think about. Because to really understand this verse that seems so simple you really need to know what certain words mean.

Lets start with “Be still.” To be still is not just about having a calm body but also a calm mind. To quiet your thoughts and center them on God. To silence our raging minds and to bring them to a still calm place. One where God can take His place and be heard. Instead of being over run or over shadowed by our storming thoughts.

We often times fill or minds with so much that they are so swamped that nothing else can get in. When we do this it pushes God out if He isn’t the center of our desires. The center of what’s filling our minds and hearts. So He said to us “Be still.” To know that He is God. To focus our minds on Him. To exalt Him.

That brings us to our next word we need to understand, exalted.

Exalted means to glorify or praise. To raise high. (meriam-webster.com) The word exalted is a adjective, meaning to describe. This particular adjective describes actions. Exalted -Praise the Lord, Thank the Lord, Glorify Him, Worship Him, Bring Him to the forefront of your thoughts of your mind.

He wants all people to come to Him. In the end He will be exalted in all the earth.
