~Matthew 28:20~

“And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

How is Jesus with us always? What do you think He means in this verse? I am with you always.

There are many times in His word where He promises that He’s with us. One verse that goes through my mind often is that He will never leave me nor forsake me. Throughout His word are continuous assurances that He is with us. That He’s there even when we don’t feel Him, is something He wants all to know no matter what. He is with us!

In this verse Jesus is talking to His disciples. Can you imagine growing up with Jesus, or one day walking around traveling with Him. Having dinner, sailing across the sea, fishing, and even going to weddings with Him. These are just some of the things His disciples experienced. But when it was time for Jesus to ascend back to heaven He wanted them to know that He would still be there with them.

How through? Why by the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit still lives in His children today. When we except that Jesus died for us to take away our sins, the gift of His Spirit is given. He welcomes us as His children. We where always created for the purpose of being His children, but with the fall of man into sin, has separated us. That is why Jesus died for us, to be the bridge back to Him.

The Holy Spirit really does bridge that gap, by making our hearts His home. He is always with us and even reminds us when we forget. He’s a gentle whisper, a pleasant memory, a thankful heart. He is so many things, but is just what we need. He knows what we are going through and is always there to help. He always understands and loves you through it all. Because the Holy Spirit is God!
