“Better is the end of a thing than it’s beginning, and the patient of spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” Ecclesiastes 7:8
Have you ever started something and found it was harder than you thought? Did you stick with it? or did you decide not too?
What I believe the Lord is saying in this verse is that not all good things start off easy. They may be quite scary or difficult at first. The beginning and the middle maybe hard and the good not easy to see. But in the end it is always worth the effort you put in. If it is pleasing to God He will bless it and bring good even when it looks like no good could come from it.
What are some of the things that you are struggling with? Was it something that started off good but than became trying? or has it always been something difficult since it started and don’t believe any good can come from it?
No matter what you started whether it be something good that you started that has become difficult, or something you have started that you shouldn’t have to beginning with, God can make good of it all. We just need to bring it all to Him and follow His guidance. So that brings us to the question that I feel is really important to ask yourself, are you being patient during this time or is your pride getting in the way?
I find that I go through times that I’m patient and really feel God’s presence and peace. But there are other times that my pride and anger get in the way and what I want becomes more important than what God want’s. During these times He shows me ways to turn my perspective around. How to see the world through His eyes. It’s up to me whether or not I choose to stay in my pride or listen to His leading.
God knows that we don’t always choose what we know we should. But the good thing is, is that God doesn’t give up on us even when we choose wrong. Because God is a patient God. He also wants us to learn patiences.
Patiences keeps our hearts humble and our minds focused on Him which brings our hearts and spirits joy!
Patiences isn’t easy but is worth all the effort. Will you listen to God today and practice patiences?
