So I have decided to do Monday devotions differently from last year. I was given a journal for Christmas that was personalized. It features a verse on every other page. It’s made by Paper Sunday, and they place your name into certain verses to make it more personal, to realize how much God loves you.
So I felt lead to use the verses from my new journal and do devotions from them. So that’s what I’m going to do! 🙂
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great us Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
What do you think this verse means when it says ‘consumed’? Consumed by what?
In this verses I believe it means being consumed by everything going on around you. That it pulls you down and it’s hard to keep hope. But it reminds us that His love keeps us, and His compassions never leaves us. Everyday He has new hopes for us. His love for us is still there and so are His compassions.
He doesn’t just decide that you were too sinful yesterday so sorry He doesn’t love you anymore. No that’s us, that’s how we tend to be. Not our Heavenly Father. Everyday every morning His love for us is new and not overshadowed from yesterday. His compassion is whole and not conditional. He loves us through our mistakes and has compassion enough to help us learn and grow from them.
He is Faithful! Just like at the end of the verse says “great is Your Faithfulness.”
