So Samaritans Purses Operation Christmas Child Collections week start on the 16th!
This is where you can bring the boxes you have packed so that they can go to one of the processing centers. But this year it is going to be a little different because of COVID. I wanted to put up a video about their new drop -off system, but was on able to find a download button. So here is a little of what they had on the website instead.
“When you arrive at your drop-off location, follow the signs for curbside drop off. A volunteer wearing a mask will greet you and direct you to an outside area where they will retrieve your shoeboxes. Volunteers will also present you with a touchless way to leave your contact information and the number of shoeboxes that you are dropping off.”(samaritanspurse.org)
Also because of COVID other things have changed as well. Here is what I found on their website.
“COVID-19 is limiting the number of drop-off locations we can offer this year, so if you don’t find one near you, try one of the following:
So you may be wondering how long national collection week is well it starts on the 16th and ends on the 23rd. So technically it last eight days not seven. 🙂 You can find where a drop-off location is near you on the Samaritans Purse website. If you just type in drop-off locations in the search icon it will take you to a map. Just put in your zip code and it will let you know the closest drop-off locations near you.
I hope you all have fun packing your shoebox or boxes! I know that I did!
