This year for me is about being thankful and just being content with who I am and with who God has made me to be.
Life can seem hard and frustrating, depressing, and lonely. But through it all God has us, and in Him is where contentment is found. And the good thing is the Lord shows us how to be content through His word!
The more I read His word the more I find that contentment and thanksgiving go hand and hand. Giving thanks to the Lord open’s your heart to contentment and Ultimately a happier heart.
Having a thankful heart all the time isn’t easy it takes time and lots of hard work. But the more you do give thanks the easier it becomes. You will find that things you normally don’t notice or don’t really think much about, and all of a sudden you find it fascinating. At least I know I do!!!
I love listening to the birds sing, watching the wind move the trees, the light flickering through the leaves and the colors they make. And my heart just feels content listening and watching all of God’s wonders! No matter the circumstances giving thanks calms my heart.
So I challenge you (and myself) to write down five or more things you are thankful for everyday for a week. Then see how you feel. I believe that you will start to feel happier and more content!
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
